A supposedly shy and reserved individual, the true nature of Himiko Otani is a mystery to strangers who first lay eyes on her. Many often wonder how she wound up in Limsa, as the ruffian pirate town seemingly doesn’t match her interests. As a bibliophile and diligent writer, residents had only ever seen her with her head buried in a book or with her pen to paper; the only company kept being her beloved Carbuncle.However, those who manage to get close will know that she’s quite the adventurous sort with a starry-eyes full of ambition. Her love of literature has led her to want to break free of her reserved personality and make a name for herself.While she’s gained quite the following since taking on her duty as The Warrior of Light, the idea of being idolized causes her anxiety. She has a fear of failure and is deeply afraid that the world will fall victim to a second calamity at her hand. She’s also the indecisive sort, often taking far too long to mull over her decisions and choose which paths to take.Although Himiko appears to be modest she’s often hard on herself and has become somewhat of a perfectionist If her work or performance in a fight isn’t up to par she’ll get easily frustrated with herself. In these instances, her diligence will become somewhat of a curse, leading her to work herself to the bone until her creations or performance reflects what she wants and feels like what others want to see. Alongside her easily frustrated nature, Himiko has developed somewhat of a jealous side, feeling threatened by other women who happen to hang around the one who’s caught her eye.She also tends to be a bit of a worrywart, showing a motherly side to her companions.
